To manage ecommerce cash flow gaps, match each bill to the date your marketplace payout should reach your bank. Use cash reserves, ask suppliers for more time, or compare funding for a shortfall with a clear plan to close it. Fundo offers $500 to $10,000 in revenue-based funding, subject to approval. Base the amount on the gap between usable cash and bills due.

Check when the payout reaches your bank

Amazon generally settles accounts every two weeks, after fees, refunds, and reserves. Check your expected payout in Seller Central.

On eBay, funds usually become available one to two days after payment is confirmed, unless held. Standard bank delivery typically takes another one to three business days after payout starts. Eligible express payouts cost $2 each and typically arrive within 30 minutes.

Build a cash plan by date

Build a daily cash plan for the next two weeks. Start with cleared cash, add net payouts on their expected bank dates, and subtract bills on their due dates. Do not count gross sales and their later payout as two separate sources of cash.

Keep money reserved for taxes or other costs separate. If a bill is already covered by that reserve, do not also subtract it from the cash left for other bills.

Here is a made-up example. The $700 is free for the costs shown. Other reserved cash, new funding costs, and extra bills are left out.

Day Cash coming in or going out Projected cash before funding
Monday Start with $700 available $700
Tuesday Pay $1,200 in bills −$500
Thursday Pay $200 for shipping −$700
Friday Receive a $1,800 net payout $1,100

The negative figures show a gap to solve, not permission to overdraw your account. Tuesday’s gap is $500. By Thursday, it grows to $700. A plan based only on Tuesday’s bill would miss the shipping cost.

If you want to keep a $100 cash cushion, the need is $800 before any funding fees or new debits.

Next, test a late payout. If Friday’s cash slips to Monday, include any extra costs due over the weekend. A plan that works only when every transfer arrives on time leaves little room for a delay.

If you use funding, add its fees and collection dates to the same forecast. Check whether the first debit falls before your marketplace payout clears. Then check what remains for the next round of bills.

Update the plan as payments arrive. Compare the amount you expected with the amount received, and note any fees, refunds, or holds that explain the difference.

The goal is to cover your lowest cash point while leaving room for the next set of bills.

Close the smallest gap you can

First, ask suppliers to move due dates past your expected payout. Confirm any fees or lost discounts. Pause stock orders or ad spend you can safely delay.

Next, check your payout settings. Faster transfers may help with funds ready to withdraw. They cannot turn held funds into available cash.

If a gap remains, compare funding by the cash you receive, full cost, and collection dates. Check whether the first debit falls before your payout clears.

Could revenue-based funding fit?

Fundo’s starting requirements include $1,500 in average monthly revenue, three months in business, and steady account activity. Approval also depends on bank records and cash flow.

Fundo buys future business sales receipts. Review the amount sold, fees, and bank-debit terms. Ask how to request a payment adjustment if sales change; do not assume debits adjust on their own.

Funding can cover a brief timing gap. It cannot fix a store whose sales fail to cover costs.

Make the next payout easier to plan

Update your cash plan each week. Set aside funds for essential bills before you spend on growth. Our guides to inventory funding and covering refunds and returns can help you plan those costs.

Your orders and bills will keep coming. Choose an amount and terms your store can support.
